The Junior Internatia Song Contest 21 is the 21st edition of Junior Internatia Song Contest. The contest takes place in Fjordvika, Kimmystan and is hosted by the national broadcaster KTV. This is the 2nd time that Kimmystan hosts this contest and the reason they are hosting it is because they won the JISC 20 held in Alteus with the song "On Ecrit Sur Les Murs" sung by Les Kids United.
This edition we saw the first entries from Thorway and Trolofloppia, while DimkaRUS, Gandhara, Jhe Freeh, Kaledonii and Victoria all returned to the contest. Sadly Alteus, Auspikitan and Kaministiquia withdrew from this edition.
The contest was won by Raingate with the song Love You Out Loud sung by Benjamin Lasnier. They achieved a total of 79 points, just 2 more points than the runner up Victoria. Frostfall finished 3rd with 74 points.
Hosting Information
Location
On 14 January 2016, KimmiTV announced that it had chosen Fjordvika as the host city for the contest. The contest will be held held at the Fjordvika Teater which has an overall capacity of approximately 6,500 people.
Fjordvika
Fjordvika is the 2nd biggest city in the Gropa region in southern part of Kimmystan. Gropa is the southern most part of Kimmystan is very similar to the neighbor region of Goma. The southernmost city in Kimmystan is located here and is called Bunnfallet. The 2nd largest airport in Kimmystan is located in this city and it connects the south with the north. There is also a railroad connection Bunnfallet with Dalen, which is a trip that is often rated by tourists as the most beautiful trip in Outernatia. The only way to reach the northern part of Kimmystan from Gropa is to travel by plane to Nordfjord or Shortyearbyen, or by train to Dalen, and there by bus or train to Vestlig.
The reason for choosing Fjordvika is the host city for the contest is due to the large airport in Bunnfallet and the good infrastructure in the region. The delegations will be arriving Bunnfallet Airport and from there they will take the Gropa Express to Fjordvika where they will be shuffled to their hotels. The hotels in Fjordvika has a high standard and are famous for the hospitality and beautiful architecture.
This is the first time that the city is hosting the Junior Internatia Song Contest. The city has previously bid to host the Outernatia Song Contest 17 but sadly was not chosen as the host city by the broadcaster. After an impressive victory in the 17th edition Fjordvika once again bid to host the contest, but once again failed as they already got the rights to host the Junior contest.
One of the trademarks óf the city are the beautiful fjords and mountains that surrounds the city, and the city is also full of beautiful parks and green areas.
Presenter
On 25 January 2016 KTV announced that Sandra Lyng would be the hostess of the contest. She is known for being the leader of the Vestlig region and for her stunning music and work with children throughout Kimmystan. Sandra Lyng previously tried to represent Kimmystan in the Outernatia Song Contest and took part in the first edition of Kimmystan NF with her entry Play My Drum. She only achieved a 4th place. She is also hot favorite by the fans to represent Kimmystan in the Internatia Song Contest in the future.
Theme
The theme for this edition will be flowers and music and the slogan will be Musical Flowers. The reason for choosing this theme is due to the beautiful landscape and flowers found in many of the gardens and parks in the city. Fjordvika is famous for it's flower gardens and people come from both Internatia and Outernatia to visit them.
Each participating country will receive a special flower with colors represent the country's flag. The logo is made by the team in KimmiTV and were presented at the same day as the they announced the host city. The logo feature the national flower of Kimmystan and this flower can only be found in this specific region of Kimmystan.
