A referendum on the status of the Head of State of Tashkveny was held in Tashkveny on November 14, 2013. Tashkveny, which has been a republic since 1990, had seen various scandals regarding the President of the nation, the titular Head of State. Support for the Royal Family, living as private citizens in the city of Laomainn, had been steadily rising over the years, and the Tashken Democrats, elected with a majority in the Tashken Congress and Senate, rushed through a bill with the intention of holding a referendum on returning the Tashken Royal Family to their status as Head of State. | |||

With such a slim majority in favour of Monarchy, republicans in Tashkveny took the referendum results to the Supreme Court, who ruled in favour of the Monarchists that a majority of the voting population (roughly 40 million Tashkens are not registered to vote, too young, or not able to under voting laws) had voted for the re-introduction of the monarchy. | |||
