Sunetti made its debut at the Internatia Song Contest at ISC 02 in Zinzolin, Spirevo, and has participated ever since.

Sunetti won on its first participation with Nina Zilli's song "Per Le Strade" and therefore hosted ISC 04 held in Affetto. Interstat 2012 Q2 showed that 207,181 people emigrated to Sunetti, the highest immigration level in Sunettian history. This was supposedly due to Zilli's success in ISC 02. There have been two cases in which Sunetti did not qualify for the final: Firstly in ISC 16, again in ISC 18 and once again in ISC 25. Regardless of its three non-qualifications, Sunetti remains one of the most successful countries in ISC in terms of qualification. On average, Sunetti scores mid-table in the final. In fact, a total of 16 entries were placed between 11-15th place in the grand final.

Festa della Sunetti (2012-2017)

Festa della Sunetti is a monthly music festival organised by Sunettian public broadcaster Channel of Sunettian Isles (CSI). It determines the country's representative for the Internatia Song Contest since its debut in the 2nd edition. It Sunetti's second most viewed national music show, behind the show, "Cheers to the Hits", which reveals the best mainstream hits all around Internatia. Keohretcha 23's "Rainmaker" by Emmelie de Forest is the only non-Sunettian ISC song to ever be #1 in the Sunettian charts.

In their early years, every Sunettian entry for ISC has been selected through Festa della Sunetti. The festival used to be open to all of Internatia to vote it, but due to budget cuts by the CSI, Festa della Sunetti sometimes televise the show in Sunetti only.

On 05 November 2017 Festa della Sunetti announced it would no longer sponsor Sunetti in ISC as a result of financial difficulties.

Sunetti XX (2017-)

Sunetti XX took over Festa della Sunetti as the main format for choosing an ISC representative. Unlike the festival, Sunetti XX takes a laidback and informal approach to the ISC selection. Instead of national finals, songs enter a shortlist where the winner is announced towards the end of each month.
