The sea has a surface area of 774,348 km2 (298,977 sq mi) and a volume of 163,218 km3 (39,158 cu mi). It is an endorheic basin (it has no outflows), and is located on the eastern landmass of Outernatia. It is bounded to the northeast by Monteverde, to the south by Almarania, and to the west by Gandhara and Folkloria.
The Nuran Sea has a salinity of approximately 1.2% (12 g/l), about a third of the salinity of most seawater.
