Prince Michael of Tikata was born as first child of Alexander, Duke of Surmetia (1923 – 1967), who was a oldest son of Ferdinand V of Tikata (1894 – 1977) and Queen Maria Louisa of Tikata (née Princess of Saint Eva and Lepland) (1899 – 1991). His mother is Catherina, Duchess of Surmetia (née Catherina de Frisen) (b. 1931). Michael II has younger brother and sister:
