Asankon participated in the Outernatia Song Contest 49 in Fettevika, Kimmystan with the song Tvillingen by Darin Zanyar.

Before the Contest

ARTVC confirmed their participation in the 49th OSC on 7 June 2018. They then confirmed that they were looking to bring back a national final format. Ultimately however, ARTVC decided to pick their act internally. On 22 June 2018, ARTVC announced they had selected Swedish singer Darin with his Swedish-language song "Tvillingen" to represent the country in Fettevika. This marks the 4th entry that Asankon has sent to the contest, that is not performed in English. Darin is also the first male to represent the country since OSC 44.

At OSC 49

Semi-finals

Asankon was drawn to perform 11th in the Second Semi-Final in between the songs of Misa and Dagon-Azuria. It was later revealed, Asankon had successfully qualified to the final by winning the semi final (their first semi final win) on a tiebreak with 94 points.

Finals

Asankon was drawn to perform 20th in the Final in between the songs of Kosma and Spinachia. In the end, Asankon placed second with 155 points missing out on victory by one point, to Alteus.
