San Reman car number plates are license plates found on San Reman vehicles.
Appearance
The license plate is rectangular in shape and made of aluminium. There is a white vertical stripe on the left side of the plate displaying the Sun of Amadora and the country code of San Remo (SR). For private vehicles the white stripe is followed, in white characters on a green background, by a combination of two digits, a combination of two letters and a combination of 4 digits. On all vehicles two plates have to be present, one in front and the other in rear, except motorcycles and tractors.
The white stripe
The white stripe was introduced in 1996. Modification of the white stripe is not in accordance with the law, but vehicle registration plates issued before January 1996 and thus without the white stripe are still valid.
Size
- 15×24 cm in rear only for motorbikes, motorcycles and tractors with rubber wheels,
- 11×52 cm in front and rear for cars, 21×32 cm rear available for off-roads, vans, trucks and busses. The size is 15×30 cm for imported vehicles if the regular plate does not fit.
