Raingate has a temperate climate, with plentiful rainfall all year round. The temperature varies with the seasons rarely dropping below −15 °C or rising above 38 °C. The prevailing wind is from the south-west and bears frequent spells of mild and wet weather from the Ocean, although the eastern parts, particularly High Rock and The Rift regions, are mostly sheltered from this wind since the majority of the rain falls over the western regions the eastern parts are therefore the driest. The country is officially bilingual at federal level with the official languages being English and Afrikaans. It is bordered by Lettuce and Gandhara.

Raingate is a federal, parliamentary, representative democratic republic. Federal legislative power is vested in the parliament which is known at the Citadel. The Citadel is elected through direct elections using the mixed-member proportional representation system. The members of the Citadel represent and are appointed by the governments of the ten provincess. The president is the head of state and invested primarily with representative responsibilities and powers. They are elected by the Citadel and an equal number of state delegates.
