The national flag of San Remo has a field of nine equal horizontal stripes, alternating yellow and green, and a white triangle at the hoist with a symbol of the sun. The sun has 16 straight and 16 waved sunbeams. The flag proportions (width:length) are 2:3.
The colours of the flag were intended to symbolize the following: the yellow colour is the national colour and stands for the sun, but also for optimism and pleasure, the green stands for hope and the white stands for a new beginning.
A law defined the colours of the flag as Brilliant gold, Moderate malachite green and Light gray. The exact matches are as follows:
