Plans for the entry to be selected via the Pebblesong Festival were initially announced, although shortly afterwards the PBC confirmed that the entry will in fact be internally selected with the proposed entry planned to compete in the near future, after rumours in national media about PBC striking a deal with a particular artist to participate in the contest in the near future.
