Gandhara uses speed limit signs with Western Arabic and Eastern Arabic numerals. In certain parts of the country, Western Arabic numerals are more common due to a non-Arabic speaking community. In Nasr for example, many inhabitants have Spanish or Lettucian as their first language. In areas where Eastern Arabic numerals are more common, road signs with Eastern Arabic numerals are always repeated by road signs with Western Arabic numerals.

Informational sign at the Gandhari borders.

The general speed limits in Gandhara are as follows:

 • 50 km/h (31 mph) within built-up areas;
 • 70 km/h (43 mph) outside built-up areas;
 • 100 km/h (62 mph) on expressways;
 • 120 km/h (75 mph) on freeways.

The limits shown above apply only if there are no other signs present, as the signs may prescribe a lower or higher speed limit. In urban residential areas, 30 km/h (19 mph) zones are found.

30 km/h zone limit, often found in residential areas.

There is no minimum speed on Gandhari motorways. However, only motorized vehicles capable of driving at least 50 km/h are allowed to enter expressways. For freeways, the required minimum is 60 km/h (37 mph).

Speed limits by vehicle type

Trucks and cars or vans pulling a trailer with a total weight of more than 3.5 metric tons are restricted to 80 km/h (50 mph). Buses and cars or vans with a trailer with a total weight of less than 3.5 tons (with the trailer weighing less than 750 kg) are allowed to drive 80 km/h on expressways and 90 km/h (56 mph) on freeways.

Motorcycles have the same speed limits as cars, while mopeds are restricted to 30 km/h within built-up areas and to 40 km/h (25 mph) outside built-up areas.

Motorized vehicles with a limited speed, like tractors, are allowed to drive on the road within and outside inhabited places. These types of vehicles are restricted to 25 km/h (16 mph).

The following table shows the various default speed limits that apply to different types of vehicles travelling on four different types of road.
