'''[[Grolskira]]''' is one of eight countries that participated in the very first [[Internatia Song Contest]] edition and one of three countries that participate in every edition of ISC.
==A very brief Grolskiric ISC history==
==History==
===The start (ISC 1 - ISC 3)===
==History==
Grolskira entered since the very first ISC and they chose Lily Allen to sing in ISC 1 with her song "22". She performed 1st in the show, that meant that she had to perform first ISC entry ever. Grolskiric people expected, that Lily will do well with her ISC entry, while sadly, it came 7th out of 8 participants, but suddenly the disqualification of Tashkveny raised Grolskira by 1 more place and made it 6th out of 8.
Grolskira entered in the first ISC, thus, are one of the first 8 countries that entered ISC. Throughout their ISC journey, they managed to send a lot of genres of music, tried to enter different artists all the time and earner a variety of results.
In the next edition many countries started competing and Grolskira was trying to not be chanceless. However, ISC theory about famous people is very different that Grolskira thought and they failed hugely for 2 later editions they took part after the first one. Kylie Minogue was chosen to have her own NF for ISC 2 and the winning song of the NF was "Timebomb", and the performance at ISC was very poor. But an ever worse ISC edition proved to be the next one - Inna won the very big Grolskiric national selection with 8 heats in every state and a second chance round. And she performed "Club Rocker", but suddenly during her performance 2 fans of Inna came on stage to have fun with her bra. Inna called security, but they arrived very late from stage. The performance wasn't repeated. And Inna came second last, this time - for real.
The first 3 editions Grolskira decided to send female soloists - Lily Allen, Kylie Minogue and Inna earned the rights to appear on ISC stage waving the Grolskiric flags with their songs. Grolskira was heavily criticised on ISC as sending too famous songs that are known worldwide to so many people and they're sick and tired to hear them again. That was the reason why all of them were rated low. First ISC edition didn't bring the positive result as joyful pop song "22" performed by Lily Allen in ISC 1, eventhough if there weren't so many participating countries at the start, finished 6th (7th before Tashkveny's disqualification) out of 8 places possible. Next edition Grolskira reached bottom 5 with sending another dancy song "Timebomb" performed by Kylie Minogue, a star and actual possible participant of Minogueland, which ceased to exist few days later after signing up. Saying it shortly, for three first editions in a row Grolskira sat in bottom 5 without any other hopes until Sibinian HoD tenderly asked to change Grolskiric tactics.
===First real Top 10 entrance and middle results afterwards (ISC 4 - ISC 7)===
When Grolskira changed their tactics, they managed to climb up to 9th place - minus Lily Allen's ISC 1 performance, it was the most successful Grolskiric placing until the edition afterwards. Voltaire who represented Grolskira in ISC 4 had risen to a stronger recognition level in Grolskira, thus they managed to be recognized both in Grolskira and Spirevo, their actual home country. In ISC 5, Grolskira managed to reach a medal position - 3rd - their best result until ISC 19 came. Grolskiric people enjoyed the moment, but after that they returned to having nothing-worthy results by making Marina & the Diamonds win Grolskiric ISC 6 preselection, finishing 3 places behind top 3. Grolskira is not really known as sending the first K-Pop song to ISC overall, but will always bear this record in their minds since Girls' Generation were sent to ISC 7, an edition before Kwonia, the nation known for mainly sending East Asian pop music to ISC.
After Inna's failure in ISC, Grolskira's national broadcaster GLTV decided to add people's suggestions for their selection to ISC 4. This time it was quite similar to selection for ISC 3, but this time a couple of things changed, including the live vote showing during the Second Chance round. Voltaire won the selection with "So Still" and it was suggested act by Spirevo. Internatian people instantly liked it, but gave it a little low points. Then Spirevo gave them 12 points, mainly because Voltaire are Spirevan, and then they got 12 from Sibinia. Then Grolskira reached their first real Top 10 place - 9th.
Since semifinals began in ISC, Grolskira saw themselves in finals 15 times out of 28 editions with semifinals. Their first semifinal attempt did not work out, however, Grolskira received some sympathy from other delegations for not qualifying. Next edition they pulled through for 3 straight editions in a row, all thanks to female singers and a female band sent. Kelly Clarkson's ISC entrance was as heavily criticised by ISC nations as Grolskiric ISC first 3 entries, so for the first 2 qualifications, Grolskira finished bottom 3, and after ISC 10 fiasco almost counted its 2 years, V delegation appeared to reveal full ISC 10 results Bitland have under their cover all along. Grolskira qualified thanks to 3 disqualified nations in Semi 2.
The 9th place of Voltaire in ISC 4 made GLTV downsize the NF for ISC 5, and made it consist of only 5 songs, representing different categories. Nolwenn Leroy won it with "Tri Martolod" and went to the ISC 5. Grolskiric people had big ambitions for the song and thought that it could do very well. On ISC 5 results night, it was proved right - Nolwenn Leroy springed into the Top 3 and had been the first and only Top 3 placer for Grolskira. People in Grolskira were extra happy, but also were satisfied with the winner. They showed it by releasing many blue and yellow balloons into the sky after the result show.
Internatia saw Grolskira sending 3 British acts in a row, and only one of them qualified, in ISC 11. The other 2 that followed placed the worst possible for the nation, thus bringing the nation a shameful result continuation, from ISC 12 to ISC 16, when Grolskira didn't qualify for 5 times in a row. When downfall point was almost so critical that no one in Grolskira liked ISC at all, everything changed in ISC 17 when Grolskira finally qualified again, putting ISC status popular in Grolskira once again. ISC 17-19 served Grolskira their greatest set of results, and even a 2nd place amongst them, brought by Woodkid and his song, "Run Boy Run".
Then Grolskira came back to the big selections. Selection for ISC 6 had 6 heats, 4 quarterfinals, 2 semifinals and a 10-song final, which was criticized a lot, because it had too much famous songs. One of them won and it was Marina And The Diamonds with "Primadonna". This song didn't did very badly at ISC, but next Grolskiric selection for ISC was consisting of few songs in different languages. Girls' Generation with their song "Paparazzi" won the selection. Grolskiric people didn't accepted this choice very warmly, but Girls' Generation surprisingly managed to bring Grolskira better than 20th place and Grolskiric people were satisfied with it.
The rest of the 2014 after ISC 20 did not end up very well for Grolskira. Almost a qualification with one of the most overplayed, same sounding and other bad worded band Coldplay almost qualified but got slapped off by a tiebreaker and that resulted in Tashkveny's qualification, which received 10 points from Grolskira in the semi. Though, next edition Grolskira pulled in because of International Jury vote, and that sounded quite unexceptional for a song like that according to Grolskiric ISC fan opinion. Hopes were held really high to win in ISC 23 and ISC 24 but the results were low. Straight after ISC 26, Grolskira's non-qualification in a row horror almost extended, but was stopped in ISC 31, at the beginning of 2015 - the year Grolskira decided to change their ISC tactics.
===The start of semifinals and 3 qualifications (ISC 8 - ISC 11)===
Indeed, 2015 proved to be more succesful for Grolskira so far, only bringing 1 non-qualification with sending something Lithuanian. The rest of times they pulled out a qualification and placed neatly in the final with sending something American, between 2nd and 11th places. After they reached 2nd places with their first 90's song, Grolskira decided to push the power of their game forward with hosting a national final between 2 more countries. Eventhough they finished 11th with their selection from that national final (the song was entered to ISC 35), they didn't give their hopes up and still wait for their first ISC win.
Since semifinals began, Grolskira was trying to send the songs that people could like and make them qualify. National final for ISC 8 was consisting of only 3 songs in 3 different languages. Vlatko Lozanoski with "Nema Den, Nema Nokj" won it, but then received some negative reactions, because that was "one of the worst songs of Vlatko" and that saddened Grolskiric people. That was truly confirmed after the semi results show - Grolskira didn't qualify in the first edition with semis.
By now Grolskira is one of the three ISC countries that haven't missed any ISC edition, together with DPR Jindalea and Saint Eva & Lepland.
The Grolskiric hopes refreshed the next edition. A national final for ISC 9 required the people's votes for the first round and 5 songs out of 6 qualified for the second round, where Kelly Clarkson with "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)" won. It was criticized a little, because Spirevo suspected the "pointwhoring" in the Grolskiric entry. But Grolskira did qualify that edition and their people were very very happy with it. They held some posters, saying "Eat your heart out, Spirevo!" and "WE DID IT" somewhere near the Dlimon city square. But the final result made everybody frown and they were willing that the next edition will be fine.
Next edition Grolskira celebrated their 10 editions jubilee in ISC and GLTV decided to remember the songs, that participated in past national finals by hosting a selection, which had the songs, that tried to represent Grolskira before, but never did it. Venus and their "Restos Del Ayer" won the ticket to ISC 10. And they previously tried to do it in the first Grolskiric selection for ISC and the fourth one. The odds for Grolskira seemed not to be good, probably because there were none of them in the semifinal. But for some occassions, Grolskira managed to qualify and placed dissapointingly there. But that was quite expected from the Grolskiric people.
GLTV decided to hold Melodi Grand Prix-type of national final for ISC 11, which was won by Arlissa and her "Sticks & Stones". Grolskira did qualify for a third consecutive time and that made Grolskiric people more happier and they really hopes for a good place, but they ended somewhere in the lower part of the scoreboard.
===The "critical condition" era (ISC 12 - ISC 16)===
After the ISC 11 GLTV didn't really thought, that a long row of non qualifications for Grolskira could happen. Bastille won the preselection of Grolskira for ISC 12 with "Pompeii" and Grolskiric people had high ambitions for it. They hoped for finally a win, since the song has been considered as a popular one. But didn't realise, that Internatia don't like hugely famous songs and they almost came last in semi. They could've been last if not the disqualification of Karuex & Qargering and Yazminia in the same semifinal. That made Grolskiric entrants be higher by 2 places.
Poor result made GLTV think of a withdrawal or a national final of two singers only. They chose the latter variant, because they wanted to participate in every ISC somehow. It was won by Bryn Christopher and his song "Smilin'". People were appreciating that Internatian countries are going to vote Grolskira in ISC 13. However, Grolskira almost ended last in semi again, this time HKJIADH was disqualified in Grolskira's semi. And that result made GLTV think that public national finals attract people's attention and the winners of them can qualify to the finals. Grolskiric national final for ISC 14 was won by CC and her "Rock'N'Roll Girl" and that made some people not satisfied, because it was almost sure that they won't qualify again. And that was proved right - Grolskira didn't qualify for the 3rd edition in a row.
A selection for ISC 15 was a little bit big, and the national final had 12 songs. Saint Lu won with "Don't Miss Your Own Life" and hoped for a win, because they thought that they can host ISC 17. But that happened that their hopes were crushed - Grolskira just missed out a qualification and came 14th in the semi.
Grolskira went back to selecting a song for one artist and they confirmed, that Biplan will go to ISC 16. After a NF of 5 songs of theirs was held, the winning song, "O Mes Prie Jūros", was chosen, but sadly, Grolskiric high hopes were crushed again, for the 5th time in a row - Grolskira didn't qualify again. And once again, Grolskira came 14th in semi.
GLTV held a NF for ISC 17, where all of Grolskiric states may had entered their own entry to this NF. Grolskira, together with a couple of Internatian countries, had decided that Grolskiric ISC 17 entry is going to be "Wish I Could" by Miss Montreal. This choice has finally paid off for the Grolskiric people and Internatia successfully returned Grolskira to the final again after 5 editions of non-qualifying. The gift of returning to final was non Top 10 finish, but Miss Montreal broke the Grolskiric points record, set in ISC 5.
Then, for 18th edition, GLTV agreed with RTVRA to make a joint NF, called Aonachskira Fest. Among the couple of Aonachian and Grolskiric entries, a Grolskiric song won the whole fest and it was Brooke Fraser's "Something In The Water". With this song Grolskira qualified twice a row in the final and returned Grolskira to Top 10 there. The Grolskiric point record was broken again.
Next edition Grolskira held a state NF once again and Woodkid was chosen to represent Grolskira in ISC 19 with his "Run Boy Run". Even though there were some kind of propaganda surrounding Grolskira from NSC side, the song managed to achieve best Grolskiric result ever (2nd place) beating Nolwenn's achieved 3rd place in ISC 5. The point record was broken 3rd time in a row. After that, Michelle Branch and her "Everywhere" was finally chosen to represent Grolskira in ISC for ISC 20 and suddenly pulled out an unexpected qualification over Semifinal 1 favourites such as Chruno. In the final her chances to shine went nowhere, as she only placed 2nd last in the final, only beating Aonach.
===GrolSat IBU membership (ISC 21 - ISC 25)===
For ISC 21, GrolSat joined IBU, but they did not influence the choice GLTV made back in February 1st 2014. After many rumours of OneRepublic going, GLTV chose Coldplay to represent Grolskira in ISC 21 with "Paradise". Sadly, they didn't manage to get Grolskira fifth final in a row by losing a tiebreaker to 12th qualifier, but it seems like they won't next time as well, because for ISC 22 Grolskira is sending Gorillaz with their smash hit "Feel Good Inc." which placed the highest in El Gran Festival De Kosmallán 9 among the 2 Grolskiric entries and is a rap song. The latter genre songs are rather not really warmly greeted in ISC but it pulled out a qualification thanks to International Jury from Semi 2 + Waiting List countries. In the final it scored 90 points and ranked 19th which was the 6th worst Grolskiric result in finals.
Avalanche City, who originate from Spirevo, got chance to represent Grolskira in ISC 23 with having their own national final and "Ends In The Ocean" was chosen to go to ISC 23. It succeeded and went to finals, but placed dissapointingly there (third last). For next edition Lenka was chosen to represent Grolskiric soil with "Heart Skips A Beat" after winning "MariLenka: The NF", which was the NF between her and Maria Mena. She managed to qualify and placed 18th, which was kinda disappointing to Grolskiric ISC fans as they wanted something better.
Coldplay were opted to represent Grolskira again with "The Scientist" for ISC 25, however, due to schedule problems they were cancelled out last minute and instead the ex-Symphonian band Muse flew the flag with their "Panic Station". Unfortunately, due to negative reactions from other Internatian countries, Grolskira didn't qualify for the second edition in 2014, ending up bottom 5 in semifinal and reaching their worst ever placing (in semifinals) up to date until ISC 28.
===After worst ever result was reached (ISC 26 - ISC 30)===
Sara Bareilles was finally let to ISC with her "Love Song" but sparked some controversy in being "too famous for ISC". Fortunately she passed to the ISC 26 finals, but did not reach Top 15 in the final. GLTV's wills were just to reach at least Top 10 to "wipe off haters' faces".
The worst nightmare for GLTV - autumn 2014 - has reached and ISC 27 has already ended for Armin van Buuren and Trevor Guthrie being and their song "This Is What It Feels Like". What was worse for ISC fans in Grolskira was that Alteus didn't qualify to the final and was close to qualify afterall. So was Grolskira, only being behind Bubblique in the semifinal among the non-qualifiers. Next Grolskiric entrants became Green Day with "Kill The DJ" but before this was made as the final decision, Frida Gold was chosen for Grolskira but Ova Anova booked them for ISC 23 with the exactly same song, so YADi was filled into the spot for ISC 28. It seemed to be the worst decision ever as Grolskira managed to collect only 23 points in semi again, this time receiving their worst place ever - 26th in the semifinal, just above the disqualified Stylé. The autumn ended with ISC 29 and I See MONSTAS participating for Grolskira with "Messiah", failing to qualify to the final by yet again a few points.
Before the 2015, the year GLTV and GrolSat change their tactics, Grolskira once again failed to qualify to the final with Omnia and "Etrezomp-Ni Kelted". Grolskiric hopes were held high, but they went to be high without any meaning.
===New strategy in 2015 (ISC 31 - ISC ?)===
GLTV and GrolSat were said to change their ISC strategy from 2015 in order to appeal to Internatian public and go to the finals. For ISC 31 they're sending MisterWives with "Reflections" to not make the same non-qualification chain like for ISC 12 - ISC 16 happen. And their goal was achieved - MisterWives qualified for Grolskira and even achieved 4th place, which bettered nation's ambitions on the contest itself.
It was the very time in a while to get Grolskiric flow go Lithuanian, and rightly on ISC 32 Grolskira and Dvipantara joined forces to have a joint national final consisting only of Lithuanian songs. The aftermath for both of Grolskiric and Dvipantaran ISC 32 choices went out terrible, but at least Grolskira was much closer to the final than Dvipantara, and the final for Jurga Šeduikytė's "Instrukcija" wasn't really something completely expected. Then the next ISC brought Grolskira a ticket to final back with a song that CBC, Caprika's official broadcaster in IBU, offered GLTV and GrolSat, because "they wouldn't mind if they send that song". Then both Grolskiric broadcasters ran a special edition show of opinion collecting for "Losing My Religion" by R.E.M. in case Internatia already grew tired of the thought seeing that song in ISC. By a clear lead of positive opinions (12 out of 15), the song was registered and sent to Zephyrus. It even almost won the whole edition but unfortunately lost a tie with Tikata. But Grolskiric people were happy that the song that represented the nation came really high.
And so both GLTV & GrolSat decided to run the longest Grolskiric ISC selection that lasted so many months. Its winner song, "Somebody Told Me" by The Killers, went to ISC 34 and qualified to the final.
Grolskira is one of eight countries that participated in the very first Internatia Song Contest edition and one of three countries that participate in every edition of ISC.

Grolskira rarely hosted any ISC related events due to their songs not reaching satisfactory heights to do so, but then even coming 3rd in ISC -1 8, they got their first ever hosting task, handled to them by the winner nation of the actual edition.
