Lettuce has participated in every Outernatia Song Contest since its debut at the first contest with the song "GET OUT!", performed by MIN in the Vietnamese language. Lettuce is only one of the three countries that participated in every edition of the contest, the others being Auspikitan and Gandhara.

Since the introduction of semi-finals, Lettuce didn't qualify for the final on three occasions. The first time during the 15th edition, SAWA came 13th in the second semi-final with their song "Swimming Dancing". The group Mrs.Slave finished second-last with their Thai song "Adventure" during the second semi-final of the 20th edition. During the 21st edition, the country fails to qualify for second time in a row when Kanako Ito finished 12th in the second semi-final with their song "F.D.D.", missing the final by 7 points.
