Voting system | Each country's 10 favourite songs are awarded 12, 10, then 8 through to 1 points based on the votes of the population of each country. All participating countries in the semi-finals and final will have the right to cast points in the final. |

The Outernatia Song Contest 17 will be the 17th edition of the Outernatia Song Contest. The contest take place in Kimmystan and will be hosted by the national broadcaster KimmiTV
Location
On 6 December 2015, Kimmystani public broadcaster KimmiTV announced that it had chosen Nordfjord as the host city for the contest. The contest will be held held at the Nordfjordske Arena, which hosted several editions of the Kimmystani national preselection Kimmystan NF. It has an overall capacity of approximately 18,500 people.
Format
The rules for the contest were released in December 2015, they state if more than 30 countries apply to join this edition there will be Semi Finals. The allocation draw will take place in Nordfjord the day after the deadline to submit an entry, on the same day there will be a draw for the running order. The host (Kimmystan) will be directly qualified to the Final.
Graphic design
On 8 December 2015, KimmiTV (with help from LBC Resources) released the logo for the Outernatia Song Contest 17, together with the slogan.[1] The logo features a snowflake, a sun and a dove which represents the peaceful nation which Kimmystan is. The slogan was revealed to be "freedom." and for each nation there was made a snowflake with their national colors. The snowflakes represent that each nation in both Internatia and Outernatia are unique and different, but together we live in peace and harmony.

So far in this edition there are 27 confirmed countries.
