Gafloofen Song Festival

The I Gafloofen Song Festival is the 1st edition of Gafloofen Song Festival. The contest was created as a national festival for light entertainment and music in St Olaf by its national broadcaster JHTV. Jennifer Stokka (Jennife Stokka), Lois Rindal (Lois Indal) and Mikel Unhjem were announced as hosts on June 6th, 2014. Abraham Lydersen (Abaham Lydesen) was hired as executive producer on June 6th, 2014.

Location

The venue for the festival was confirmed on June 6th, 2014 as the Gafloofen National Indoor Arena. The venue has a capacity of 12,000 with a potential eventual audience of 9,000. Tickets went on sale on Olavbillet.ov on June 10th, 2014 and were reportedly sold out in an hour.

Format

The 1st edition of the Gafloofen Song Festival will consist of a final concert on July 2nd, 2014. Artists are invited based on their presence in the Olafslisten Top 8. Four artists are invited on June 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th. In case of an artist already having been confirmed the 9th, 10th etc. entry will be eligible for an invitation as well.

The first four artists to be confirmed were Ed Sheeran, MKTO, Clean Bandit & Jess Glynne and Milky Chance.

The jury producing 50% of the result will consist of 5 females and 5 males. They will be in an age range of 16-25, 26-35, 36-45, 46-55 and 55+. Every jury member produces a full ranking, which will then be converted into a jury ranking based on the average ranking per entry. The other half of the result will be decided by app voting available to the public, in which a song can be approved with a thumbs up. The final tally in this vote produces a full ranking, which will then be converted into a public ranking. The combined vote produces the final result.

Running order

The running order for the 1st Gafloofen Music Festival will be held on June 26th, 2014 after the final artists are confirmed. The draw will be hosted by Jennifer Stokka, who will function as the main host of the final show on July 2nd, 2014.
