The Internatia Song Contest 27 was the 27th monthly edition of Internatia Song Contest. The contest took place in Lumturi, Pen Island, following the victory of The Pierces in the 25th contest with their song "Kings". Pen Islandic national broadcaster PEEN was the host broadcaster for the event. The date of the final was 2 October 2014.[1]
A total of fifty-five countries participated, with Eriod and Tashkveny returning to the contest. It was only the second time when maximum number of participants participated in the contest, first being Internatia Song Contest 15 in Tramandi.
The winner of this edition's contest was Loituma who represented Kosma with the song "Ievan polkka". Yazminia and Amsteris finished in second and third place respectively, with Sunetti and Luzze completing the top 5.[2] This was Kosma's second victory in a ISC, first being Internatia Song Contest 16.

Pen Island's first Internatia appearance was in 17th edition in Liechgrado, Yazminia, when Katy Perry came 15th in the final with her song "Unconditionally". On 30 July 2014 in Leshkent, Leshia, Pen Island won the 25th contest with "Kings" sung by The Pierces. The song won also Congratulations: 25 Editions of the Internatia Song Contest. Their win in ISC 25 was their only Top 10 finishing until ISC 36.
Lumturi, the capital and largest city of Pen Island, was named the host city for the contest. It is located in the north of the country near the border with Ova Anova. This city was ranked among the world’s top ten cities for the best quality of life in 2012.

On 31 August 2014 it was confirmed that maximum number of 55 countries will be taking part in the contest, making it the second contest in history with maximum number of participating nations[3].
Eriod returned after missing one edition[4], and Tashkveny returned after three editions break[5].
Semi-final allocation draw
The draw that determined the semi-final allocation was held on 31 August 2014 in Lumturi. All of the participating countries excluding debuting countries were split into five pots, based on the voting history of those countries in previous years. From these pots, half (or as close to half as was possible) competed in the first semi-final. The other half in that particular pot competed in the second semi-final.
As hosts, Pen Island were exempt from the allocation draw.
