Asankon made their Outernatia Song Contest debut in the 37th edition with the song "Attention", performed by Charlie Puth which placed 4th.

History

Asankon made their debut by performing in the second semi final of the 37th edition of the Outernatia Song Contest and placed 6th in the semi final. They improved on this score in the final by getting 4th place with 117 points making them the most successful debut nation of the edition.

For the 38th edition, Asankon had held a national final, The Asankoni Song in which 6 songs competed to represent the country at the contest in Kaministiquia. In late August, it was announced Rudimental featuring James Arthur's song "Sun Comes Up" came out victorious. The song qualified from the First Semi Final and will once again perform in 17th in the final and finished in 19th place in the final with 68 points.

The national final was revamped and renamed GASCA for the Outernatia Song Contest 39. After a landslide victory, it was announced former ESC participant Alyosha would represent Asankon with her song "Kalina" making her the first female to represent Asankon in the contest. She later qualified for the final where she finished in 13th place with 69 points.

It was announced on 29 August 2017, Asankon would scrap the national final and revert back to internal selection for OSC 40 citing lack of interest and funds as reasons . The song 'Power' by Little Mix featuring Stormzy was one of the first songs confirmed for the contest. ARTVC have left the possibility of GASCA returning in a future edition.
