Rata Sum made their debut in the 80th edition of the Outernatia Song Contest.
Unlike many ISC countries before, Rata Sum did not need to go through an obligatory process of voting in the few finals before joining, and that practice was altogether abolished sometime in later OSC editions to allow other ISC countries like 
Tonallán, 
Territrius and 
Men̈́sa to join without any special requirements.
