National Final
For the first time, SealTV held a national final to select Saint Eva & Lepland's entry for ISC. This was called the International Song Festival and five different countries from other continents participated. The national final was originally planned to select the entry for ISC 12, but it was postponed.
New Zealand sent Boh Runga, who had had a #1 hit in Saint Eva & Lepland with "The Sky and the Earth"; the United Kingdom and Germany both sent former Eurovision Song Contest participants (Jessica Garlick and Roger Cicero respectively); Canada sent Cobie Smulders 'in character' as Robin Sparkles, and the Netherlands sent an orchestra accompanied by various Dutch singers, including several ESC participants.
The festival was broadcast in nine Internatian countries; some aired the festival live, while others broadcast on a tape delay. All nine countries voted, awarding 5 points to their favourite song, 4 points to their next favourite, and so on. The Netherlands won the festival, with their entrants Het Metropole Orkest & Friends and the song "Wereldwijd orkest". This is Saint Eva & Lepland's second Dutch-language entry, following "Amore fantastico" at ISC 8.
