Although the United Principality, as a sovereign state, is a country, [[Raingate]] and [[Frostfall]] are also regarded as ''countries'' and ''sovereign states'' in their own right. The phrase "countries within a country" is often used to describe the United Principality. The adjective ''Rainfallen'' is commonly used to refer to matters relating to the United Principality. The term has no definite legal connotation, but is used in law to refer to UP citizenship and matters to do with nationality. People of the United Principality use a number of different terms to describe their national identity and may identify themselves as being Rainfallen; or as being Raingatian, Frostfallen; or as being both.
