Health in Kimmystan
In Kimmystan, all hospitals are funded by the public as part of the national budget. However, while medical treatment is free of charge for any person younger than the age of sixteen, residents who have reached adulthood must pay a deductible each year before becoming eligible for an exemption card. The card entitles one to free healthcare for the remainder of that year.
All public hospitals in Kimmystan are run by four Regional Health Authorities (RHA) overseen by the Kimmystanian Ministry of Health and Care Services. In addition to these public hospitals, there are a small number of privately owned health clinics currently operating in the biggest cities like Nordfjord or Huttiheita.
Cost
People aged twenty or younger, and pregnant and/or nursing women are given free healthcare regardless of the coverage they may have had in previous situations. All citizens are otherwise responsible for the annual deductible - which averages around 2040 Kimmystanian Kroner. Kimmystan's health system also does not cover specialized care for those above 20 years of age, and anyone needing treatment such as specialized physiotherapy are required to pay an additional deductible. While health appointments themselves are encompassed by the deductible, extra materials and medical equipment are often covered by the patient. The dentist is free for all of the Kimmystanian citizens and the cost is covered by the Kimmystanian national budget.

In the case that hospitals in Kimmystan are unable to treat a patient, then treatment abroad is arranged free of charge. The hospitals of Kimmystan have an agreement with the hospitals of Frostfall, Gandhara and Raingate that they can send their patients to the hospitals in those nations in case of emergencies or if they are unable to treat a patient. This is fully covered by the Kimmystanian state. Patients from Frostfall, Gandhara and Raingate can also come to Kimmystan and have the same rights as the Kimmystanians if they cant get the necessary help in their home countries.
Pharmaceuticals
Kimmystan does not produce all of the bulk of pharmaceuticals consumed domestically, and so they have to import a small ammount that are used in its health system. The pharmaceuticals are almost fullycovered by the Kimmystanian Health Economics Administration (KHEA) since patients only pay about 38 % of the price, while the rest is covered by KHEA. For pharmaceuticals necessary to treat life lasting diseases related to the hearth, cancer, diabetes etc the price is fully covered by KHEA and the patients do not have to pay for their pharmaceuticals. However the KHEA only cover the price of the generic drugs, if the patients chose the original drug they have to pay a small fee.
