Gaulia, better known by it's formal name, Republic of Gaulia, is a country located in Outernatia. It has a population of just over 10 million and it's capital is the city of Johnson, in the province of Loure.
Gaulia was founded in September 1998 following the merger of the countries of Gaul and Berkenia in the Johnson agreement. Whilst the land in former Berkenia is largely uninhabitated, with a population of just under 4,000, it has large gas reserves which help fuel Gaulia's increasing economy, one of the largest of the nations of Outernatia.
Gaulia uses a democratic political system which was part of the Johnson agreement. This agreement allows for an election to be called every three years, typically in September, and ensures that any political party is given fair media coverage across Gaulia, amongst over details. The current prime minister of Gaulia is Alesho Trove of the Gaulia Green Party (GGP), Trove has been in government since the 2007 election and became prime minister in 2013.
Since it's foundation, Gaulia has had a fantastic human rights record and is at the forefront of promising equality for all of it's citizens, regardless of whether they came from former Gaul or former Berkenia; prime minister Trove has promised that anybody who comes to Gaulia is treated as a Gaulian.
