The III Gafloofen Song Festival is the 3rd edition of Gafloofen Song Festival. The contest was created as a national festival for light entertainment and music in St Olaf by its national broadcaster JHTV. Michele Lyse, Keith Forsland (Keith Vosland) and Christopher Sveen (Chistove Sween) were announced as hosts at the winner's press conference of the 2nd edition. Melinda Bjørlo (Melinda Bjoelo) was announced as executive producer.

Location

The venue for the festival was confirmed on July 28th, 2014 as the Gafloofen National Indoor Arena. The venue has a capacity of 12,000 with a potential eventual audience of 9,000. Tickets go on sale on Olavbillet.ov on August 11th, 2014.

Format

The 3rd edition of the Gafloofen Song Festival will consist of a final concert on August 27th, 2014. Artists are invited based on their presence in the Olafslisten Top 8. Three artists are invited on July 28th, August 4th, 11th and 18th. In case of an artist already having been confirmed the 9th, 10th etc. entry will be eligible for an invitation as well. Gafloofen Song Festival 3 will be the first edition to include artists invited based on their presence in the top 8 of Roseaulisten and Gustavslisten, both receiving two berths for the edition. These invitees are set to be announced on August 18th.

The first four artists to be confirmed on July 28th, 2014 were Pitbull & G.R.L., Sam Hunt and Iggy Azalea & Charli XCX.

The jury producing 50% of the result will consist of 5 females and 5 males. They will be in an age range of 16-25, 26-35, 36-45, 46-55 and 55+. Every jury member produces a full ranking, which will then be converted into a jury ranking based on the average ranking per entry. The other half of the result will be decided by app voting available to the public, in which a song can be approved with a thumbs up. The final tally in this vote produces a full ranking, which will then be converted into a public ranking. The combined vote produces the final result.

Running order

The draw for the running order for the 3rd Gafloofen Music Festival will be held on August 18th, 2014.
