The II Gafloofen Song Festival was the 2nd edition of Gafloofen Song Festival. The contest was created as a national festival for light entertainment and music in St Olaf by its national broadcaster JHTV. Michele Lyse, Keith Forsland (Keith Vosland) and Kerri Korsmo (Ke'i Kosmo) were announced as hosts at the winner's press conference of the 1st edition. Abraham Lydersen (Abaham Lydesen) was announced to return as executive producer.
Location
The venue for the festival was confirmed on June 30th, 2014 as the Gafloofen National Indoor Arena. The venue has a capacity of 12,000 with a potential eventual audience of 9,000. Tickets went on sale on Olavbillet.ov on July 13th, 2014 and sold out the same day.
Format
The 2nd edition of the Gafloofen Song Festival consisted of a final concert on July 30th, 2014. Artists were invited based on their presence in the Olafslisten Top 8. Four artists were invited on June 30th, July 7th, 14th and 21st. In case of an artist already having been confirmed the 9th, 10th etc. entry were eligible for an invitation as well.
The first four artists to be confirmed on June 30th, 2014 were Katastrofe, Austine Mahone & Pitbull, Tove Lo & Hippie Sabotage and Nico & Vinz. Kyla La Grange, Sia, Coldplay and Adelén were added to the line-up on July 7th, 2014. Ed Sheeran, Becky G, Broiler and Florida Georgia Line were added to the line-up on July 14th, 2014. Paramore, Tiësto & Matthew Koma, Gabrielle and Anders Nilsen were added to the line-up on July 21st, 2014.
The jury producing 50% of the result will consist of 5 females and 5 males. They will be in an age range of 16-25, 26-35, 36-45, 46-55 and 55+. Every jury member produces a full ranking, which will then be converted into a jury ranking based on the average ranking per entry. The other half of the result will be decided by app voting available to the public, in which a song can be approved with a thumbs up. The final tally in this vote produces a full ranking, which will then be converted into a public ranking. The combined vote produces the final result.
