Melting Pot is a national final that happens every January since 2016. It came out as a
Bitland's idea to unite 5 pots together by having one member from each pot to volunteer to represent their pot.
Grolskira joined the competition too but since their pot changed to another, they were offered a pot place on their own - Pot Grolskira.
Melting Pot (ISC 44)
The participants of the first edition of Melting Pot were (winners highlighted):
| Pot | Representing nation | Artist | Song |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pot 1 | A Love Like Pi | "Wide Awake" | |
| Stealing Sheep | "Deadlock" | ||
| Pot 2 | Anna Puu | "Kohta vapaita" | |
| Sarah McLachlan | "Song for Winter's Night" | ||
| Pot 3 | Anitta | "Bang" | |
| Lena Philipsson | "Live Tomorrow" | ||
| Pot 4 | Theory of a Deadman | "Angel" | |
| Kuba Oms | "My Love" | ||
| Pot 5 | Mariette | "The Next Generation Calls" | |
| Antonia | "Dream About My Face" | ||
| Pot Grolskira | Alizée | "I'm Fed Up" | |
| Zella Day | "High" |
Out of all participants,
Hanzyuki did not send their winner to the edition, as it was their tradition to not send their joint NF winners to ISC (happened in El Gran Festival once when they entered two major pop hits of the world that wouldn't usually be well received in ISC anyway). However, their winner ended up being sent to ISC 45 by
Amsteris anyway.
Grolskira forgot to vote, therefore got 58 points deducted off both of their entries as a result.
Melting Pot 2.0 (ISC 56)
The participants of the second edition of Melting Pot were (winners highlighted):
| Pot | Representing nation | Artist | Song |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pot 1 | Ruelle | "Live Like Legends" | |
| Marie Hines | "Kingdom" | ||
| Pot 2 | Ward Thomas | "Carry You Home" | |
| Elias Kaskinen & Päivän Sankarit | "Elämä lupaa mulle" | ||
| Pot 3 | Mimi Oh | "Säkerhetsnål" | |
| We Are Legends ft. Caroline Ailin | "Begging for Amnesia" | ||
| Pot 4 | Sophia Nohr | "Welcome to the List" | |
| Venior | "Sugar Rush" | ||
| Pot 5 | Wardruna | "Odal" | |
| Johanna Glaza | "Letter to New York" | ||
| Pot Grolskira | Nelli Matula | "Lemmikki" | |
| Sleeping at Last | "Mars" |
Out of all participants,
Porielana did not send their winner to the edition, as they didn't feel like sending their winner anymore with their current tastes. Not even their other entry, which they did consider for their host entry alongside their actual entry.
Melting Pot 3.0 (ISC 68)
The participants of the third edition of Melting Pot were (winners highlighted):
| Pot | Representing nation | Artist | Song |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pot 1 | Qebrus | "Rainy Monday" | |
| El Búho ft. Minük | "Corazón de Rubi" | ||
| Pot 2 | Jewel | "Foolish Games" | |
| Shanice | "I Love Your Smile" | ||
| Pot 3 | MilaN | "Olen kaunis" | |
| Sufjan Stevens, Bryce Dessner, Nico Muhly, James McAlister | "Saturn" | ||
| Pot 4 | Aimer | "One" | |
| ODESZA | "A Moment Apart" | ||
| Pot 5 | Matisse & Sadko ft. Hanne Mjøen | "Into You" | |
| Maître Gims | "Caméléon" | ||
| Pot Grolskira | Parov Stelar | "Catgroove" | |
| Lina | "I Wore It Better" |
Nicolas' Neighbour, just like
Territrius for the previous Melting Pot edition, sent both of their songs to ISC in two editions in a row. Unlike for the winner for the country, the second entry placed much better in its edition, whereas the winner came among the bottom songs in its semifinal.
