Fruit of our Nation

Fruit of our Nation (Soleani: úna pa zeka kelnka) is a music competition organised by the Ponásikwani public broadcaster PSL which determines the country's representative for both the Internatia and Outernatia Song Contests. The contest is held infrequently as PSL usually opts to internally select Ponásikwa's entry for the contests. All editions of Fruit of our Nation thus far have been held in Ponásikwa's largest city, Apsolękh.

The contest has produced a winner for Ponásikwa at the Internatia Second Chance Contest.

Voting

Points are given by juries from different countries. Since the start of the contest, one voting system has been used. Each jury awards 6, 4, 2, and 1 to their top four songs, which in most cases will be every song. In the first two editions, there were two semifinals each with four songs. Two songs from each semifinal qualified to the final. The songs which placed first and second in the final were sent to the Internatia Song Contest and the Outernatia Song Contest respectively.

The voting system is expected to change in prospective editions of Fruit of our Nation. PSL notes that songs ranked last by a jury receiving one point have undue weight placed in their favor. In opposite sets of votes, the songs ranked fourth by both juries would be pushed ahead of those consistently ranked in the middle (two and four points).
