The International Exhibition Center (Arabic: المركز الدولي للمعارض) is a permanent multi-purpose exhibition complex in Rhea, Gandhara. Located in the eastern portion of the city, the center was opened in November 2002, and the head of the center since its construction is Shaher al-Amoudi.
On 6 November 2016, the International Exhibition Center was announced as the host venue of the 29th edition of the Outernatia Song Contest.[1]
History
The idea of building the complex came from Shaher al-Amoudi, a Gandhari businessman. Current director of the center is the Gandhari architect Omar Samra who designed the complex, and Mohamed Araiqat was the head of its construction.
Architecture
The total area of the exhibition complex is 60 ha of which 25 ha is currently exploited with covered space of 40,000 m² and 80,000 m² outdoor space. The center has a congress hall and seven conference halls with up-to-date visual equipment and display facilities. It is a modern conference and congress center with conveniences such as air conditioning, wireless internet, news websites, audio equipment, data projectors, and emergency supply. The parking space has a capacity of accommodating up to 2,500 cars.
