All countries, except the host country, were required to qualify from two semi-finals in order to compete in the final; from each semi-final the top nine countries progressed to the final, and a tenth was determined by the International Jury. On 18 October 2015, an allocation draw was held which placed each country into one of the two semi-finals. Gandhara was placed into the first semi-final, to be held on 10 November 2015.

In the first semi-final, Mähri Pirgulyýewa performed 9th in the running order, following Waticania and preceding Grolskira. At the close of the voting "Aýterek Günterek" had received 37 points from 6 countries, placing Gandhara 16th of 17 competing countries. However, the International Jury ranked "Aýterek Günterek" first, and thus the song qualified for the final.

In the final, Mähri Pirgulyýewa performed 16th in the running order, following Thorway and preceding Kimmystan. At the close of the voting "Aýterek Günterek" had received 104 points from 14 countries and the International Jury, placing Gandhara 4th of 21 competing countries. It was the country's best result since their win in the 7th edition and the first time the country scored over 100 points.
