Gandhara participated in the Outernatia Song Contest 21 in Basnarke, Grolskira. Their entry was selected through the national final Nights of Gandhara, organised by the Gandhari broadcaster Radio and Television of Gandhara (RTG).[1]
Jane Zhang won the national final and represented Gandhara with the English language song "Dream It Possible".
Nights of Gandhara
Nights of Gandhara is a song contest that served as Gandhara's national final to select their entry for the Outernatia Song Contest 21. The competition was held on 29 March 2016 at the Minna Theater in Rhea and was presented by Rodolph Hilal.
Competing entries
Five acts competed in the national final. The competing songs and artists were announced on 25 March 2016.[2] The winner was decided by 5 professional juries from different countries, who awarded 12, 10 and 8 points to their 3 favorite songs. "Dream It Possible" won by a 14-point margin, having been ranked first by three of the juries.

At Outernatia
All countries, except the host country, were required to qualify from two semi-finals in order to compete in the final; from each semi-final the top nine countries progressed to the final, and a tenth was determined by the International Jury. On 1 April 2016, an allocation draw was held which placed each country into one of the two semi-finals.[3] Gandhara was placed into the second semi-final, to be held on 19 April 2016.
In the second semi-final, Jane Zhang performed 15th in the running order, following Huania and preceding V. At the close of the voting "Dream It Possible" had received 84 points from 13 countries, placing Gandhara 1st of 17 competing countries, and thus the song qualified for the final.
In the final, Jane Zhang performed 5th in the running order, following Auspikitan and preceding Harmony. At the close of the voting "Dream It Possible" had received 77 points from 12 countries, placing Gandhara 7th of 21 competing countries.
