Gandhara participated in the Outernatia Song Contest 22 in Nordfjord, Kimmystan. Their entry was selected through the national final Nights of Gandhara, organised by the Gandhari broadcaster Radio and Television of Gandhara (RTG).
The5 won the national final and represented Gandhara with the Arabic language song "Bel Gharam".
Nights of Gandhara
Nights of Gandhara is a song contest that served as Gandhara's national final to select their entry for the Outernatia Song Contest 22. The competition was held on 24 April 2016 at the Minna Theater in Rhea and was presented by Ghida Fakhry.
Competing entries
Five acts competed in the national final. The competing songs and artists were announced on 5 April 2016.[1] The winner was decided by 6 professional juries from different countries, who awarded 12, 10 and 8 points to their 3 favorite songs. "Bel Gharam" won by a 8-point margin, having been ranked first by two of the juries.

At Outernatia
All countries, except the host country, were required to qualify from two semi-finals in order to compete in the final; from each semi-final the top nine countries progressed to the final, and a tenth was determined by the International Jury. On 9 May 2016, an allocation draw was held which placed each country into one of the two semi-finals. Gandhara was placed into the second semi-final, to be held on 23 May 2016.
In the second semi-final, The5 performed 7th in the running order, following Limnoupolitana and preceding Raingate. At the close of the voting "Bel Gharam" had received 102 points from 13 countries, placing Gandhara 1st of 16 competing countries, bringing Gandhara their second consecutive victory in a semi-final and qualifying for the final.
In the final, The5 performed 12th in the running order, following Timivar and preceding Huania. At the close of the voting "Bel Gharam" had received 72 points from 11 countries, placing Gandhara 16th of 21 competing countries.
