This was Saint Eva & Lepland's first participation under its new name and republic status. Saint Eva & Lepland once again internally selected an act to represent them, this time opting for Canadian Matt Dusk with jazz song "Back in Town". After criticisms regarding the lack of publicity given to the country's previous entry, Back in Town was heavily promoted in Saint Eva & Lepland and abroad. It received regular airplay on many radio stations in Internatia, as well as Matt Dusk guest singing at several NFs. This was rewarded with a 6th place out of 24 songs with 77 points (including two sets of 12 from Brickistan and Spirevo). This was considered "an excellent result" by SBC officials.
