Colinestria, officially the Colinestrian San Reman Republic, is a breakaway territory in the west of San Remo at the border with Sockistan. Since its declaration of independence on 1 September 2013, the area is governed as a presidential republic, a state with limited recognition.
The republic of San Remo does not recognise the independence of Colinestria and considers it a rebellious territory within the Portuguese speaking part of San Remo. According to San Reman laws, the northern part of the Colinestrian area belongs to the San Reman departments Almeida and Gondomar, while the rest is a part of the department Astralia.
