Kimmystan has participated in every Outernatia Song Contest since its debut at the the 9th Edition held in the city of Rhea, Gandhara. to date.
History
The local broadcaster KTV chose Carina Dahl internally to be the first Kimmystanian representative with the song "If That's The Only Way". Kimmystan finished 12th with 62 points on their debut receiving 12 points from Gandhara and Tikata. Sky Ferreira was selected internally by KTV to represent Kimmystan in the 10th Edition, where she finished 14th with 54 points. Kimmystan has never ended lower than 14th which means that this placing is the worst placing.
For the 11th Edition, KTV arranged a national selection to select their representative, Kimmystan NF. The winner of the first edition of Kimmystan NF was Rasa & Jonas with their song "Teka Saule", they went on to give Kimmystan their first top 10 placing in the contest. Since the 11th Edition, Kimmystan has only been outside of the top 10 on one occasion, in the 16th Edition where they finished 11th. Since the introduction of semi-finals in the 13th Edition, Kimmystan have qualified on all occasions and therefor have not missed a final. When the semi-finals were introduced Khadja Nin came 8th in the first semi-final with the song "Mama". In the final Khadja Nin followed up her success in the semi final and ended 6th in the final. Kimmystan won the 15th Edition of the contest with the song "Lifetime", performed by Nicole Sabouné. Due to her victory, Kimmystan successfully hosted the Outernatia Song Contest 17 in the Nordfjord Opera house in the capital city of Nordfjord. Kimmystan was represented by Jesse & Joy with their touching entry "Ecos de Amor" and they went on to become the first artist to win on home soil and gave Kimmystan their 2nd victory in the contest. As a result of their second victory they hosted the 19th Edition in Fettevika.
In the 20th Edition, Kimmystan was represented by the artist Josef Salvat (who won Unity Fest 2) who finished 2nd only few points behind the winner from Republica Libera. After Republica Libera declined to host the 22nd Edition, it was announced that Kimmystan would host the 22nd edition and therefor KTV chose Nordfjord as the host city. Kimmystan was represented by Nilufar Usmonova in the 21st Edition, and she was the first Kimmystanian artist since Margaux Avril to finish outside of the top 3. Kimmystan finished in the top 3 in the 17th Edition - 20th Edition.
After two eight places in the 21st and 22nd edition, Kimmystan continue the trend by ending up in the top 3. Elisa manage to bring her country back to the top 3 by coming 2nd, almost winning the contest, and the following edition Alan Walker represented his country once again (he won the 44th edition of Internatia Song Contest with the song Faded) and finished on the 3rd place. After an exciting 8th round of Kimmystan NF, Aura won and went on to represent her home country in the 25th edition of Outernatia Song Contest. She went on to win the contest, giving Kimmystan their 3rd victory and the right to host the 27th edition. Kimmystan continued their sucess by achieving another 8 place in the 26th edition.
After their 3rd victory in Outernatia Song Contest 25 they were set to host the 27th edition in the city of Uff Da. The host entry this time was the marvellous Billie Eilish and her song Six Feet Under. The song was originally chosen to compete in the ISC 50 but the local broadcaster rather wanted her to represent Kimmystan on home soil. Billie achieved a 3rd place, therefor making her country very proud. Another artist which was set to compete in ISC 50, but never made it that far was Mike Perry. His new song was submitted to KTV for the 28th edition, and KTV immediately fell in love with the song. The song went on to become a hit in several Internatian and Outernatian countries and gave Kimmystan their 4th victory in the contest, and the rights to host the 30th edition.
For the 29th edition KTV chose the local artist Sophia Somajo who competed in the 5th edition of Unity Fest, where she came 3rd. In OSC she managed to finish 2nd, giving Kimmystan another top 3 placing. Kimmystan went on to host the 30th edition in Cwm where they were represented by the country pop duo Ward Thomas. Ward Thomas managed to win the contest, becoming the 2nd act to win Outernatia Song Contest on home soil and granting Kimmystan the rights to host the 32nd edition. Kimmystan failed to qualify to the final for the first time ever in the 31st edition and this also marks the first time that Kimmystan finished outside of the top 10 since OSC 17.
