Riya-Sampetrina participated in the Outernatia Song Contest 40 in Suacaerus, Auspikitan with the song "Carpet of the Sun" by Renaissance, selected through the national final RSF. With only 15th place and 42 points, it failed to advance to the final.

Radio-Televisi Riya-Sampetrina (RTRS) announced that they were holding their first national final, selecting English progressive rock band Renaissance as their representative. For OSC 40, four songs were selected internally to compete, and the winner was selected from votes by international juries. After three weeks of voting, the international juries selected "Carpet of the Sun" with 42 points.

Riya-Sampetrina was drawn 6th in the First Semi-final, performing between Gandhara and Daǔlska. It was placed 15th with 42 points, thus failing to qualify to the final. It was also ranked 13th with 24 points on the International Juries.
